I have a dream
Our Constitution was ratified in 1950 Jan 26.
It has been more than 70 years after this momentous occasion which transformed us as a bits & pieces sovereign states into a grandiose democracy. So let us analyse where we are:
I can say this; India & its successive governments have failed its Karthas "We the People".
We got equality by constitution but never in education, in jobs, in opportunities & wealth creation. We all got a vote but nothing else.
Let me ask you this: Who gets opportunities?
The poor are perinneally impoverished while rich get richer and middle class is nowhere in policy makers mind. 10% of rich hold 99% of nation's wealth. We are way worse than our pre independence position where 10% rich held less than 40% wealth.
Our constitution was supposed to be a cheque of opportunity given to all Indians but the opportunity to encash until now since independence has been given only to the rich.
This cheque of opportunity has bounced for the rest of us.
Today I am calling on "We the People" to join with me & demand this Government we ourselves elected to encash our cheque of opportunity. We cannot sit back & watch when all of country's wealth is in the hands of handful of selected rich people.
Today I want my govt to give me the same opportunity that it gave to Malya, Nirav Modi, Ambanis, Adanis & other rich people. The banks, the bureaucracy, the elected representatives, the licencing authorities should be devoid of any discretionary powers so that appeasement of rich stops now.
Today I am asking my Government to look at us, we the people the real contributors to its GDP with real equality of opportunity.
Every Indian should get the same opportunity that these selected rich get.
Every Indian should get "the opportunity to acquire "note" equal to rich" not just to vote equal to rich.
Let us define "Right to Equality" once again
The 3 arms of democracy: Legislature, Bureaucracy, Judiciary should not be allowed any longer to fool WE THE PEOPLE.
Please answer my questions truthfully without fear, you will know what I am talking about:
Who do the politicians listen to? We the people or the selected rich
Who do bureaucrats care for? We the people or the selected rich
Who gets justice in our courts? We the people or the selected rich
January 14th is Lingayat Dharma Stapana Divas, as we get nearer to it, it is time we go back in our history & see why Basavanna reinvented this dharma/religion. It was not just about social equality it also included equal opportunity to all.
#Basava not only brought about socially equality, he brought equality in opportunities & job through his (ಕಾಯಕವೇ ಕೈಲಾಸ) work is worship & Anubava Mantapa movements. We had real scholarship coming out of Anubava Mantapa from the lowest of the low strata of society of those times. Where are today's Devara Dasimiah, Madivala Machidevas & Akka Mahadevis? Why are the poor devoid of scholarship? Is it not failure of our Constitution & successive governments including the present incumbent?
May Basava lead us all.
